YPG announced Yesterday that it will be closing it's Canpages division.
Although the employees of Canpages were not members of our Union Local, we of course express our sympathy and concern for those people who have lost their jobs in this closure.
There has also been some confusion over the statements that Canpages sales people will be joining the YPG sales force, and the numbers of people involved.
What we do know at this time is that approximately 16 Canpages Sales employees will be joining YPG in various areas throughout Ontario in several of our sales channels. They will of course become members of our local with all the rights and privaliges afforded any of our membership.
We welcome them to our Company and our Union Local, and look forward to meeting them in person during their orietation training.
As of yesterday our communication with YPG management has confirmed that there will be no displacement or job loss to our current members because of this situation.
